Nellie McComas, (nee Woods), 84, of Lorain, died Friday morning, August 31, 2007 at her home following a illness of several months.

Mrs. McComas was born in Salt Rock, WV on May 17, 1923 and has lived in Lorain for the past 56 years. She was a  homemaker.

She was a member of Tower Baptist Church and a former member of the Beacon Baptist Church.

Mrs. McComas enjoyed church, gospel music, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by daughter, Regaina Hall, of Lorain; son, Donald E. McComas, of Lorain; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Effie Woods Adkins of Branchland, WV.

Mrs. McComas was preceded in death by her husband, of 66 years, Robert E. McComas on Feb. 2, 2007; her parents, Jay and Emeline (nee Simpkins) Woods; two brothers; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Judith A. McComas in 2004.

Friends may call Tuesday, September 4, 2007, from  2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M., in the Schwartz, Spence,  Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.

Additionally, friends may call on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from  10 A.M. until the time of the funeral at 11 A.M.  in the funeral home with Rev. Aaron E. Webb, pastor of the Beacon Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Lorain, OH.
