The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Sandra Kay Hawkins (nee Lang), 57, of Grafton, died Friday at EMH Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was born September 11, 1949 in Gary, WV and lived in the Grafton area for most of her life.
Mrs. Hawkins was a Midview High School graduate and was currently employed at the General Plug and Manufacturing Co. in Grafton.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis; loving son, Robert Hawkins of Elyria; grandchildren and greatest fans, Robert Jr., Charles, Anthony, and Jason.
There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday (today) at 6 P.M. at the New Hope Lighthouse Church, 40180 Parsons Rd., LaGrange. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria.
