Flora Mae Williams, 86, of Lorain, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2007, in the Autumn Aegis Nursing Home following a long illness.
She was born in Clanton, Ala., coming to Lorain many years ago from Cleveland where she lived for 20 years.
She was employed in the housekeeping departments for many years in different hotels in the area.
She was a member of the Cathedral Of Praise Church of Lorain for many years.
She enjoyed gardening, fellowshipping with her church and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Elmer Williams of Lorain; daughter, Elsie (Thomas) Everson of Lorain; son, Jimmy Samuels of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mittie Hill and Orener Steel of Clanton, Ala.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Mattie Studamire; four brothers; and two sisters.
Friends may call Thursday, September 13, 2007, from 11 a.m. until services at noon in the Cathedral Of Praise Church, 4545 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where Elder Melvin Brown, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain. Carter Funeral Home, Lorain, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to carterfuneralhome@yahoo.com
