ELYRIA — A 27-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after overturning a truck on the state Route 57 off-ramp Tuesday afternoon while hauling asphalt.
Wynyanna Winchester, of Cleveland, was heading west on Interstate 90 near the ramp to state Route 57 when she lost control of a 1986 Ford F-600 straight truck and went off the left side of the roadway around 12:30 p.m., the Elyria post of the State Highway Patrol reports.
The truck struck a guardrail, came back on the road, rolled twice and went over an embankment. It landed on the grass. During the tumble, the asphalt spilled out on to the off-ramp, and was closed temporarily.
Winchester as well as two passengers, Solomon Stevenson, 65,and Tijeranna Thornton, 11, both of Cleveland, were taken to EMH Regional Medical Center. Winchester was still being treated in the emergency room Tuesday afternoon. Stevenson and Thornton were treated and released.
Winchester was cited for failure to control.
