The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Josephine Ditirro (nee Ricco), 78, of Lorain, died Thursday, September 6, 2007, at Amherst Manor Nursing Facility, Amherst. She was born May 24, 1929 in Lorain and remained a life long resident.
Ditirro was a clerk at Bazley’s market in Lorain and at the Steve Polansky market in Amherst. She enjoyed cooking and traveling.
Survivors include her son, Richard J. Milasky of Carrollton; sister, Adeline Anthony of Amherst; one grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rose Ricco; her first husband, Richard Milasky; her second husband, Joseph Ditirro; and her sister, Theresa Scrofano.
Friends may call Sunday, September 9, 2007, from 4 to 8 P.M. at Reidy-Scanlan-Chambers Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway Ave., Lorain, where Prayers will be Monday, September 10, 2007, 9:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 A.M. at The Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Father Ken Wolnowski, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
