Anita M. Horvath (nee Hist), 75, of Elyria, passed away Friday, September 7, 2007 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, following a short illness. She was born March 4, 1932 in Elyria and had lived here all of her life. She graduated from Elyria High School in 1950. Anita worked for the Elyria Chronicle Telegram for over 35 years and retired in 2000. She also drove for Spitzer Management with her husband Joe. Anita and Joe were married in 1953 and enjoyed 48 years together before his death in 2001.
Mrs. Horvath is survived by three daughters, Debbie Knipper (Edwin) of Elyria, Karen Chandley (Joe) of Wakeman, and Vickie Panter (Michael) of Elyria; six grandchildren, Andrew, Jennifer, Matthew, Brian, Stephanie and Steven; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Horvath was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe; a brother, Clifford Hist; step-brother Cleve Benton; and step-sister, Eunice Steele.
The family wishes that memorials be made in Anita’s name to the New Life Hospice, 3700 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, OH 44053. Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second St. Elyria, from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday, September 10, 2007. Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, September 11 2007, at 10 A.M. The Reverend Dennis Sauer will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridgehill Cemetery, Amherst.
