The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Lawrence T. Anthony

Lawrence T. Anthony, 59, a resident of Wellington, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Oberlin Medical Center, following a year long illness. He was born February 18, 1948 in Amherst, where he lived until age nine. He has been a resident of Wellington for the last 17 years.

Lawrence worked at the Oberlin office of the Murray Ridge Center. He was very outgoing and loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching birds and animals, Santa Claus, which included collecting dolls and figurines;
and trips to McDonald’s.

Survivors include his father, Clifford Anthony of Amherst; sisters, Kathryn Anthony and Janice Jones, both of Amherst; and brother, Richard Anthony of Avon Lake.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Anthony (nee Gormley).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Dr., Amherst. The Rev. Father Lawrence Martello, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amherst.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Wellington Estates, P.O. Box 386, Wellington, OH 44090.

Final arrangements are being handled by the Hempel Funeral Home in Amherst.
