The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Richard A. Petcavage, 44, of Elyria, died Monday, September 10, 2007. Richard was a 1981 Elyria Catholic High School graduate, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 774, V.F.W. Post #1079, and was an avid fan of the Indians, Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his mother, Florceda (nee DeChant); four sisters, Margaret D. Reyes (husband Jose) of Vermillion, Elizabeth J. Brown (husband James) of Amherst, Lenora T. Given (husband Terry) of Centerville, VA, Belinda A. Meier (husband Don) of Medina; and brother, Fr. Paschal Leonard Petcavage O.S. B.; uncle of 11; great Uncle of four.
Rick was preceded in death by his father Albert P. in 1979.
Friends may call 3 to 8 P.M. Thursday, September 13, 2007 at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home at Chestnut Ridge Rd. and State Rt. 57, Elyria, where closing prayers will be at 11 A.M. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 A.M. Friday September 14th at St. Agnes Church, 611 Lake Ave., Elyria. Rick’s brother, Fr. Paschal Leonard Petcavage O.S.B., and Rev. Albert A. Krupp will concelebrate Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery; Elyria V.F.W. Post #1079 will provide military honors.
