The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Jack C. Bryner, 86, of Elyria, died Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at his home. He was born December 8, 1920 in Lorain where he graduated from Lorain High School in 1939.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was employed for 43 years at U.S. Steel Company in Lorain retiring in 1982 as Machine Shop Foreman.
Jack was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Elyria, where he had served on the Board of Trustees and the Diaconate.
He was a member and past Treasurer of Elyria Senior Fellowship and was also a member of Lorain Senior Fellowship.
His other interests included photography, working on his computer, bowling and golf.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Roberta A. (nee Tonry); daughter, Cheryl L. (Dennis) Hoffman of Warrenton, MO; granddaughters, Pamela Forester and Heather Kellar; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Kurish of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alice Bryner.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A Memorial Service will be Saturday 10 A.M. at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 330 Second St., Elyria. Rev. Christina Kukuk will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ, Elyria or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 424 Middle Ave., Elyria, OH 44035.
