The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Juanita J. Palm

Juanita J. Palm (nee Nicols), 93, of Elyria, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at The Northridge Health Center, North Ridgeville. She was born June 17, 1914 in Norwalk, and was a 1932 graduate of Norwalk High School.

She was a member of the Board of Realtors and worked in the real market, locally, for over 20 years. Mrs. Palm also worked along side her husband in the family dry cleaning and laundromat business. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elyria, and a member of Women’s Senior Fellowship Club of Elyria. She enjoyed reading, walking, baking and her cats.

Juanita is survived by her daughters, Rita K. (Daniel) Pennington of Grafton, and Sandee S. (Michael) Rigg of Birmingham, AL; a sister, Lucile Clark of Huron; three nephews; several grand-nephews and grand-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alto G. Palm in 1999; her parents, Dean and Myrtle (nee Minkler) Nicols; a half sister, Merle Strong; and half brother, Clinton Heath.

Visitation will be Saturday from Noon until the time of a  1:30 P.M. Funeral Service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Dalton D. Love will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 424 Middle Ave., Elyria, OH 44035.
