The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Esther C. (Marquis) Doan, 95, of Greenville, formerly of Arcanum and Elyria, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2007 in the Emergency Room at Wayne Hospital, Greenville. She was born December 29, 1911, in Cleveland, to the late Charles S. and Lillian (Sherman) Marquis.
Esther retired from Real Cleaners, Elyria, after 17 years of service. She enjoyed collecting angels and bear figurines, but her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.
Esther will be missed and remembered by her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Kay and Robert Zollinger of Ft. Wayne, IN, Bonnita "Gerry Lee" Smith of Ft. Wayne, IN, and JoAnn Rae and Allen Wenrick of Covington; grandchildren, Linda Colevas, Vicki Doan, Richard Doan, Michael Doan, Karri Rice, Conya Smith, Todd Wenrick, Krista Weldy; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Colevas, Christopher Colevas, Derrick Doan, Sara Doan, Kimberly Doan, Taron Genung, Kaycee Smith, Colten Weldy, Kaden Weldy; great-great-grandchild, Aviana Ruiz; brother, Maynard C. Marquis of Oberlin; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Edward "Eddie" Robert Doan; daughter, Judy Mae Doan; grandchildren, Teejay Wenrick, Mary Doan; great-grandchildren, Angela Doan, B.J. Doan; sister, Chloe V. Wirth; brothers, George Marquis, Arthur Marquis; and special friend, Wilbur Clinton.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Pearson-Jackson Funeral Home, 10 South High St., Covington, where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 10 A.M. Pastor Russ Tichenor will officiate. Interment will take place in the Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington. Condolences can also be expressed to www.jacksonfuneralhomes.com
