The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Joseph Stephen Yakunovich Jr.

Joseph Stephen "BO" Yakunovich Jr., 54, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2007.

He was born in Oberlin and has lived in North Florida for the past 26 years.

He was a graduate of Firelands High school class of 1971. He was employed with Atlantic Dry Dock for 26 years.
He enjoyed fishing and his old Pontiacs.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Tressie; sons, Joseph Yakunovich (Jennifer) of St. Marys, Ga., and Ivan Yakunovich of Fernandina Beach; daughter, Sharon Yakunovich of Fernandina Beach; father, Joseph S. Yakunovich Sr.; stepmother, Judy Yakunovich of Kipton; brothers, David and Stephen Yakunovich of Kipton, and Mark Yakunovich of Pine Island, Fla.; sister, Kathie Yakunovich of Oberlin; grandchildren, Zackry and Charlotte Watson, and Sidney Yakunovich who called him "Boompa"; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Yakunovich; and brother, Paul Yakunovich.

The family will be celebrating Joe’s life on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at 2 p.m. at his home, 940389 Old Nassauville Road, Fernandina Beach, Fla. Arrangements are being handled by Cedar Bay Funeral Home, Jacksonville, Fla.
