Marliene Marie Beard (nee Brown), 70, of Elyria, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2007, at Lake Pointe Health Care Center of Lorain following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 3, 1937 in Elyria. She was a 1956 graduate of Elyria High School. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Elyria, where she served on the usher board and sang in the church choir.
Marliene worked as a sales associate at Three Sisters clothing store in North Ridgeville, as a ward secretary at Elyria Memorial Hospital, and as secretary at Higbees credit department.
She traveled many places in the United States. She loved crafts, reading, cooking and visiting with family.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert M. and Hazel V. Brown of Elyria; two nieces, LaTonya Rozier of Elyria, and Holly Brown-Skjelbreid of Norway; two great-nieces, Mariah Rozier and Tiffany Adair of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Ossie Omega (nee Rinager) Brown of Elyria; maternal grandparents, JP and Mary Etta Rinager of Elyria; paternal grandparents, Jacob and Elizabeth Brown of Ravenna.
Family will receive friends Thursday, September 20, 2007, from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at noon at Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Rev. Donald Brown, pastor of Salem United Methodist Church, Sandusky, will officiate. Online condolences can be sent at www.dovinfuneralhome.com
