William L. Wigton, III, 86, died Friday, September 21, 2007, at Golden Acres Lorain County Home after a lengthy illness.
William was born on March 21, 1921, in Peking, China, then moved to Lorain County when he was four.
He was a salesman with the May Company, retiring in 1981 after 30 years. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a fighter pilot, stationed in England.
William was a 1938 graduate of Oberlin High School and attended Oberlin College for one year, and Baldwin-Wallace College for three years. He enjoyed football, golf, reading and automobiles.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Anita (nee Valletta) Wigton; sons, Todd Wigton of Amherst, William (Chip) Wigton IV, of Oberlin; daughters, Amy LaCarrubba of Calif., Cindy Bailey of Sharon Center, Barbara Kozlowski of Mich.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Elizabeth (Lowry) Wigton; brother, Dr. Charles E. Wigton, Jr.
Services will be private.
