The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Angela C. Schlather (nee Weber), 86, of Avon Lake, formerly of Bedford, passed away, Saturday, September 22, 2007 at St. John West Shore Hospital, following complications of pneumonia. Mrs. Schlather was born, November 2, 1920 in Ft. Wayne, IN and had lived in Avon Lake for over 50 years.
Angela was a homemaker and an active member of St. Joseph Church in Avon Lake. She belonged to many church organizations, including singing in the choir.
Mrs. Schlather is survived by sons, Thomas Schlather (Eileen) of Avon, Joseph Schlather of Elyria, George Schlather (Kathy) of Elyria, and Mary Margaret Schlather of Rapid City, SD; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Lucile Van of Elyria; and brother, Dave Weber of N. Olmsted.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, George W. Schlather; daughters, Georgeann Bailey and Cathy Landers; parents, Frank F. and Clara (nee Hauck) Weber; and brothers, Herbert Weber, Ferd Weber, Maurice Weber, and Richard Weber.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Rd., Avon Lake, Thursday, September 27, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. A Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home, Friday, September 28, at 9:15 A.M. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Rd., Avon Lake, at 10 A.M. Fr.
