Ethel M. Ducci (nee Swegard), 86, of Elyria, and formerly of Pohatin Point, passed away Monday, September 24, 2007 at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria, following a brief illness. She was born December 20, 1920 in Powhatan Point, and lived most of her life there until moving to Elyria in 1992 .
Ethel was a homemaker and a member of Community United Methodist Church in Elyria. She was active at the church in the Wednesday quilting circle, helping with the thrift sales and cooking dinners. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, working jigsaw puzzles and cooking for her neighbors.
She is survived by a son, John Stewart (wife, Ingrid) of Vermilion; two grandchildren, Harold and Saundra Stewart; a sister, Hazel Richardson of Elyria; brother, George Swegard of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Stewart (1943); a former husband, Alex Ducci; and her sister, Myrtle Isaly.
Friends may call Thursday, September 27, 2007, 11 A.M. until the 1 P.M. Funeral Service at Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second St., Elyria. The Rev. George Shiltz, former Pastor of Community United Methodist Church in Elyria, will officiate. Burial will be at Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, OH on Friday, September 28, 2007.
