The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

George H. Schrull

He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. He fulfilled duty assignments as a Technician Fifth Grade assigned to Company A of the 1303 Engineer GS Regiment.  He participated in campaigns throughout the Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France, and the Rhineland. George was the recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal as well as the Good Conduct Medal. He was a long-time member of Amvets Post # 47 in Lorain.
Mr. Schrull was employed by the Lorain Utilities Department as an operator at the Black River Water Treatment Facility. He retired in June of 1983 after a career that spanned more than a quarter century with the municipality. He also formerly worked in a part-time capacity as a stocker for the Meyer Goldberg Store in Lorain.
George attended Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain and was a member of both U.S.W.A. Local 6621 and U.F.C.W. Local # 880.
An avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, he enjoyed gardening and bird-watching.
Survivors include sons, John A. Schrull of High Point, NC, Mike Schrull of LaGrange, and Mark E. Schrull of Lorain; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marge (nee McCullough) in 1995; a son, Jack W. Schrull in 1995; his parents, Andrus and Hulda (nee Schiemann) Schrull; brothers, Al and John; sisters, Hilda, Emma, Mary, and Freda.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral chapel with Rev. Laurie Miller, Pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church presiding. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, where military honors will be conducted by the officers and members of V.F.W. Post # 1079 of Elyria.
