Eric Arthur Ripley, 44, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at Allen Medical Center in Oberlin.
He was born June 19, 1963, in Akron.
Eric was a veteran of the Navy in 1981 and was honorably discharged. He worked as a computer specialist for Rebman in Lorain.
He was active in Lorain County Amateur Radio Club (KB8QQR) and SkyWarn. As an amateur, he served as the area’s Red Cross Emergency Communications.
He was an avid fisherman where he fished here in the area and in Georgia.
He is survived by his parents, Clarence A. and Dianne Ripley of Oberlin; sons, Nathan and Nicholas Ripley, both of Bellefontaine; sister, Marissa Bowden of North Ridgeville; and paternal grandmother, Aimee Ripley of Macon, Ga.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at First Church of Oberlin. The Rev. David Hill will officiate.
Private burial will be held at a later date. Cowling Funeral Home of Oberlin handled local arrangements.
