The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Carl E. Gunder

Carl E. Gunder, 58, of rural Ashland, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at Med-Central of Mansfield. Mr. Gunder was born June 28, in Elyria to the late Roger and Anna (Wissinger) Gunder. He had been a resident of Ashland Co. the past seven years and was an over the road truck driver.
Mr. Gunder was a member of Grace Brethren Church and the Adult Bible Fellowship Class Body Builders.
He had served with the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War.
On November 12, 1994, Mr. Gunder married Karyn Heath who survives. Also surviving are a son, Carl Gunder Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and George Beniot all of Bradenton, FL.; twins, Brandon and Brittney Gunder both of Ashland; four grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Koler of Elyria, and Lois Heath of Sacramento, CA.; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Gunder of Conroe, TX.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gunder was preceded in death by his brother, Roger; and infant sister, Harriet Elaine.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 7 P.M. Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Grace Brethern Church Chapel, 1144 W. Main St., Ashland, where a Memorial Service will be at 7 P.M. Pastor Dan Allan will officiate. Interment will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the family in Carl’s name. Heyl Funeral Home, Ashland assisted the family with arrangements.
