The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Pauline H. Kurtz, 87, of Wellington, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Elm’s Nursing Home in Wellington.
She was born in New Bethlehem, PA on January 25, 1920 to John and Mary McCloda Hensel and had resided in the Wellington area most of her life.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, life on the farm, traveling and gambling.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Tom) Brown of Wellington; three grandchildren, Dan (Theresa) Brown, Tom (Lisa) Brown and Robin Pavlik; five great-grandchildren, Amanda, Lindsey, Sadie, Alissa and Jake Brown; brother, Charles (Mary) Hensel of Ashland; sisters, Agnes Barber of Wellington, and Sophie Stursa of Wellington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; one brother; and three sisters.
Visitation will be Thursday from 7 to 9 P.M. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 East Main St., Spencer.
Funeral Services will be Friday, October 5, 2007 at 10 A.M. at the funeral home. Chris Bell of Wellington will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Homerville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Hospice, 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
