Ernestine Burnette Cook, 84, of Lorain, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Golden Acres Nursing Home in Amherst following a lengthy illness. She was born on November 14, 1922 in Buffalo, NY and has resided in Lorain since 2003.

Ernestine was employed as a pharmacist aid at Toledo Health and Pharmacy in Lorain. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Buffalo. She enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Survivors include daughter, Marnina Burnette of Lorain; step-daughters, Barbara Jean Hall of Buffalo, NY and Princette Burnette of Louisville, KY; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Cook; parents, John and Anna (nee Yeldell) Harrison; step-father, William Harris; brothers, David Harrison and Cecil Harrison; and sisters, Mattie Brinkley and Mae Kindale.

Friends may call Saturday, October 6, 2007 from 4 to 6 P.M. at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Rd., Sheffield Township where a Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM. A Memorial Service will also be held at Bethel A.M.E. in Buffalo, NY at a later date.
