The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Carol Schaefer, 63, of Euclid Ave. passed away Friday, October 5, 2007 at her residence. She was born May 8, 1944 in Massillon, the daughter of Ellen (Musser) Blake of Elyria, and the late Harold Blake.
Carol was a 1962 graduate of Black River High School, in Spencer, where she grew up and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was President of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and Preceptor Chapter Beta Lambda.
She married David A. Schaefer on June 17, 1967 at Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue.
She was employed as a floral arranger at the former Wireman’s Florist and a receptionist for Myers and Nicely Dentistry.
She enjoyed gardening, floral arranging, craft shows, shopping and cheering for her children and grandchildren at their sporting events.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, David A. Schaefer of Bellevue; son, Matt of Bellevue; daughter, Kristen (Ben) Stoll of North Fairfield; grandchildren, Justin, McKenzie, Bella, Logan, Luke, Jordan, Austin; brother, Bruce Blake of Lexington, KY; and sister, Marilyn Jacobcik of Avon.
Friends will be welcomed on Sunday, October 7, 2007 from 2 to 8 P.M. at Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 West Main St., Bellevue, with a Rosary Service being held at 4 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October, 8, 2007 at 11 A.M. in Immaculate Conception Church, 231 East Center St., Bellevue. The very Rev. Keith Stripe will officiate. Burial will follow at York Chapel Cemetery.
