The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Frank DeMaria

Frank DeMaria, 82, of Elyria, died on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Wesleyan Village in Elyria following a long illness. Mr. DeMaria was born in Elyria, on October 19, 1924 and lived in Elyria all his life.
He graduated from Elyria High School and attended Western Reserve College in Cleveland.
He retired in 1977 at the age of 53 as the Vice-President of the Johnson Corp. in Bellevue.
He served in the U.S. Army for three years during World War II in the Pacific Theater earning many medals including the Bronze Star.
Mr. DeMaria was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
He was a life member of the VFW Post 1079 in Elyria.
He and his wife, Virginia enjoyed traveling with their favorite trip being a driving vacation to Alaska.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia (nee Tarnowski); daughter, Kathleen (husband John) Bayorek of Elyria; sons, Dr. Thomas F. (wife Kathleen) DeMaria of Columbus, Daniel F. (wife Debra) DeMaria of Anna,  Dr. Robert (wife Debbie) DeMaria of Elyria; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Vecchio of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Angela (nee Pronesti) DeMaria; sisters, Jean DeSantis and Frances Maiorca; and brother, Sam DeMaria; and infant son, Douglas.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin-Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, on Friday, October 5, 2007 from 6 to 8 P.M. Closing prayers will be Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 9 A.M. in the funeral home followed by a Mass at 9:30 A.M. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria. The Rev. Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery Elyria, where the VFW Post 1079 will conduct full military honors.
Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Elyria Salvation Army, 716 E. Broad St., Elyria, OH 44035.
