Wilma J. Burgess (nee Glasscock), 77, of North Ridgeville, passed away Monday October 8, 2007, at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born July 14, 1930 in Mobley, WV and had resided in North Ridgeville for 56 years.
Mrs. Burgess was a 1948 graduate of Mannington High School in Mannington, WV. She was a homemaker and was also employed as a sales clerk at the former G. C. Murphy Store in North Ridgeville for 13 years. Mrs. Burgess was a very active member of The Church of Christ on East Broad Street in Elyria. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening and sewing.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Roy; two daughters, Renee Pavelko (Steve) of Wellington, and Bonita Nelson (the Late Douglas) of Westlake; three sons, Vernon Burgess (Carol) of Elyria, Everett Burgess (Beverly) of Oberlin, and Randy Burgess (Annette) of Wakeman; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Morris of Irondale; and four brothers, Calvin Glasscock of Mentor, Charles Glasscock of Smithville, WV Junior Glasscock of Winterhaven, FL and Neil Glasscock of Charlotte, MI.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine Powell; and parents, Raymond V. and Olive V. (nee Glover) Glasscock.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 11 2007, at 10 A.M. at the funeral home with Minister Courtney Cruthers, Pastor of Lake Walnut Church of Christ in Elyria, officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
