The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Neva Marie Wilson

Neva Marie Wilson "Nan", 86, of Wellington, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at the Elms Nursing Home following a short illness.

She was born January 30, 1921 in Spencer. She worked as a clerk for Sparkle Market for 14 years, retiring in 1984.

She and her late husband were members of a snowmobile club and Neva was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Free Will Baptist Church.

She enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, ballroom dancing and spending time with family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Glenn) Mason; granddaughter, Sheri (Steven) Sams; great-grandson, Kevin Sams; great-granddaughter, Casey (Chris) Jenkins; and sisters, Carol Rolfe and Betty Brown, all of Wellington.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles C. Moore; mother, Esther M. Bryant; first husband, Henry "Blondie" Haendiges; second husband, James Smedley; third husband, Royal "Sarge" Wilson; son, Richard W. Smedley; brothers, Lee Moore and Carl Moore; sisters, Nada Bradstock, Marge Cutright and Wanda Coffman.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2007, at T.G.Cowling Funeral Home, 218 Herrick Ave. East, Wellington, where funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2007. The Rev. Tom Keller, Faith Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
