Candy Lee McComas, 57, of Wakeman, died Tuesday evening, October 9, 2007, at the Rehabilitation & Nursing Center at Firelands, New London, where she had lived since 1992. She was born May 19, 1950 in Bay Village, daughter of the late Fred L. and Lajean (Novotany) Weldon, Jr.
She was raised in Vermilion and lived there for many years, and in Lorain for several years. She had been in the Wakeman area since 1975. Candy was a 1968 graduate of Admiral King High School. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Cara (Mike) Dalton of Wakeman; two granddaughters, Sierra Holliday and Emily Dalton; and grandson, Michael Dalton; two brothers, Richard Weldon of LaGrange and Fred Weldon, III of Texas; two sisters, Sue Hughes of Oberlin and Debra Gullickson of Lorain.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry McComas, Sr. in 2002; stepson, Jerry McComas, Jr.; and sister, Bonnie Iwaniki.
Friends may call from 1 P.M. until the time of Service at 3 P.M., Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London. Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park.
