Fuller F. Bogard, 100, of Elyria, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at the Western Reserve Hospice House, Cleveland. He had lived alone in his home until he was hospitalized October 3, 2007. Fuller was born in Beach Haven, PA January 12, 1907.
He moved to Akron as a youth and had worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.
He graduated from Cleveland Institute of Art in 1930 where he met his wife.
He was employed as a tool and die maker at General Motors Fisher Body in Elyria retiring in 1960. He painted the advertising signs at Elyria East Little League Field in the 1960′s.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Elyria.
He enjoyed traveling in the United States, Canada and Europe. Other interests included photography and taking slides and movies of family and travel.
Fuller is survived by daughters, Joan (John) Bonko and Barbara (Edward) Abahazi of Elyria; grandchildren, Patti Verde of Westlake, John Bonko of Elyria, Jean Bonko of Asheboro, NC, Ed Abahazi of Atlanta, GA, and Julie Wukie of Elyria; great-grandchildren, Katelyn and John Bonko, Bradley, Ryan and Adam Wukie and Witt Abahazi.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marion (nee Witt) in 1991; and a brother, Edward Bogard in 1967.
A graveside Service will be Friday, October 12, 2007, 1 P.M. at Brookdale Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, October 13, 2007, 11 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church, 9685 East River Road, Elyria. Rev. Henry Baum will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
