Man ambushed woman at apartment, police say

LORAIN — A woman returning from the grocery store around 10 p.m. Monday was ambushed at her Fulmer Road apartment by a man against whom she had a restraining order, according to a Lorain police report.

Paul Mohn, 34, surprised the woman at her door, knocked her cell phone out of her hand when she tried to call police and placed her in a choke hold until she nearly passed out, the report said.

Mohn stopped when the woman promised to give him a ride to Broadway and West Ninth Street.

He is charged with aggravated burglary but could not be located by police, according to the report.
