TeleTech Corp. announced today that it will expand the call center it plans to open in Amherst Township , adding 340 jobs to the 500 jobs it had announced in August.

Chuck Koskovich, vice president of the Colorado-based company, said the medical call center the company originally planned to bring to Lorain County will be replaced by a call center for a wireless phone carrier, which he declined to name.

The company plans to have its facility fully up and running by the end of January and already has hired about 300 people.

TeleTech has worked with various economic development groups in the county, including the Lorain County Growth Partnership, to facilitate bringing in the additional jobs.
