CARLISLE TWP. — A man who told police he is Jesus Christ was arrested Wednesday after a pizzeria employee accused him of fondling her.
Cornelius Casey, 34, of Elyria, who is registered as a sex offender in Cuyahoga County, was charged with gross sexual imposition and was being held at the county jail on a $6,000 bond.
A 22-year-old Elyria woman said she was walking to work at Domino’s Pizza on East Avenue around 2 p.m. when Casey offered her marijuana, according to an Elyria police report. About 90 minutes later, when she was working alone, he entered the restaurant and offered her drugs again, the report said.
The woman said she told Casey that she couldn’t use drugs because she is pregnant, and he started making lewd sexual suggestions about pregnant women, the report said.
The woman said she backed away, but Casey came around the counter, stuck a bag of marijuana in her face and offered to have sex with her, the report said.
The woman told police he grabbed her buttocks, wrapped his arms around her and began pushing her and fondling her. He finally stopped and left the store as she screamed and started crying, police said.
Casey declared his divinity to officers as he was being arrested on Middle Avenue, and he told them they were infringing on his rights, the report said.
