LCCAA offers winter heating help

LORAIN — Lorain County Community Action Agency will conduct the Winter Crisis Program through March 31, 2008, or until funds are exhausted.

The program, which begins Nov. 1, is funded through the Ohio Department of Development’s Office of Community Services.

Funds are available to assist those who meet specific criteria including an income eligibility requirement and have a current gas and/or electric bill that must have a disconnection notice.

Funds also are available for those whose services are currently off or those who have less than a 10-day supply of bulk fuel, such as heating oil, propane, wood or coal.

HEAP applications and enrollment and verification of the percentage of income payment plan requirements must be taken.

Walk-ins and appointments are available for processing. For more information, call the Energy Services Department at (440) 245-1870 or visit the offices at 502 Broadway, fourth floor, Lorain.
