The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Connie "Chuck" Oliver, 61, of Lorain, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 27, 2007, at Community Regional Medical Center in Lorain.
Mr. Oliver was born October 10, 1946 in Georgetown, Ga., and had lived in Lorain since 1994. He formerly worked at the Elyria Foundry, Elyria Paper Recycling Company, and Woodford Machinery in Elyria, and was retired.
He was an avid sports fan, played softball, and enjoyed fixing cars.
He will be sadly missed by his fiancee, Rosetta Allgood of Lorain; sons, Addi Lee Oliver of Medina, Timothy Oliver of Dotson, Tenn., and Thomas Allgood of Lorain; daughters, Betty Joe Oliver of Elyria and Angela Allgood of Lorain; brothers, James, Richard, Christopher, and Willie Oliver, all of Elyria and Eddie Roy Ceaser of Georgia; sisters, Rudy, Silvia and Leola Oliver, all of Elyria, Mary Glynn of Elyria, and Cynthia Norris of Georgia; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean (nee Peterson); parents, R.T. and Emma Jean (nee Ellington) Oliver; sister, Annie Oliver; brother, Elijah Oliver; and niece, Joann.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2007, until noon services at Original Church of God, 512 Edward Ave., Elyria. The Reverend William Allgood, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin.
