Jerry Lee Edmister III, 20, of Columbia Station, died Friday, October 26, 2007, in North Carolina in an accident.
Jerry was born October 31, 1986, in Oberlin. Jerry was a member of the Lorain County JVS auto mechanics program and was a 2005 graduate of Columbia High School.
Jerry enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2006 and graduated from Parris Island on October 5, 2006. Jerry was a lance corporal stationed at Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C., and was an airframes mechanic.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, working on cars, hunting with his father, and fishing with his friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Kirra Leigh Edmister of Eaton; parents, Barbara (Askew) and Jerry Lee Edmister II of Grafton; sister, Amber Lynn Edmister of Cleveland; grandmother, Carla Louise (Longenecker) Edmister of Grafton; and grandfather, Jerry Lee Edmister I of Elyria. Jerry is also survived by his uncles and aunts; Jason A. Edmister I of Elyria, Josette L. (Edmister) and Andrew C. Williams of Quantico, Va., Jennifer L. (Edmister) and Michael L. Radike of Cleveland, Kristie (Edmister) of Wadsworth and Ernie Daso of Wadsworth, Bonnie (Askew) and Perry Howland of Novelty; five cousins, Jason A. Edmister II, Hailey E. Makowski, Brhiana E. Makowski, Kate Howland, and Anson Howland; great aunts, uncles, and cousins in Ohio, New York, and Texas.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007, at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
