Kathryn J. Koepp

Kathryn Jane Koepp (nee Bringman), 86, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at Community Health Partners in Lorain, following a brief illness.

She was born February 6, 1921, in Vermilion. Kathryn was raised in Brownhelm Township and had been a resident of Amherst since 1958.

As a young woman, she worked at South Shore Packing in Vermilion for several years. Kathryn was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst and also a former member of the Amherst Veterans of Foreign Wars Women’s Auxiliary Post 1662.

She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Arnold, watching TV, cooking and baking.

Survivors include her sons, Dale Koepp of Amherst and Gary Koepp of Lorain; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Bill Bringman of Amherst; sister, Shirley Rogers of Walnut, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Arnold Frederick Koepp on January 15, 2007; sisters, Margaret Schibley, Marie Young, and Ruth Fisher; and parents, Peter and Theresa Bringman (nee Nagle).

Friends may call 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2007, at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2007, at the funeral home. The Rev. Terrance Adamson, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Brownhelm Cemetery, Brownhelm Township.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul  Lutheran Church, 115 Central Dr., Amherst, OH 44001.
