Anne L. Chernitsky (nee Dziak), 82, of Elyria, died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at EMH Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born March 27, 1925 in Keisterville, Pennsylvania and lived in Elyria for most of her life.
Mrs. Chernitksy was employed for 25 years at EMH Regional Medical Center, retiring as the payroll supervisor in 1987.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria, where she was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society and served on the church bereavement committee.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, collecting dolls and angel figurines, and was an excellent cook and baker.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Thomas; daughter, Carol (Chuck) Capell of Vermilion; sons, Tom (Linda) Chernitsky of Elyria, Marty (Rose) Chernitsky of North Olmsted, Greg Chernitsky of Cleveland; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret McCarthy of Connecticut, and Mary Donahue of Parma; brother, Robert Dziak of California.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Chernitsky; three sisters; and five brothers.
Friends may call Sunday, November 4, 2007 from 2 to 5 P.M. at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, Chestnut Ridge Rd. at State Rt. 57, Elyria. Closing prayers will be Monday, November 5, 2007 at 9 A.M. in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 A.M. Mass at St. Agnes Church, 611 Lake Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Albert Krupp, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions can be made to the church building fund.
