Joanne M. Kantner

Joanne M. Kantner (nee D’Ercole), 69, of  Tidioute, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully with her family on Thursday, November 1, 2007 after an extended illness.

A long time resident of Lorain County, Joanne was born in Cleveland and graduated from St. Stephen’s in 1956 and  Cuyahoga Community College in 1987. She worked 17 years at Oatey Company.

She was a creative, unconditionally loving woman who loved cooking, crafts, and family gatherings. She was an avid Browns and Indians fan and volunteered tirelessly for cystic fibrosis.

She is survived by four children: Harry Edward Kantner, Jr. of Cleveland, Mary Jo Sheldon of Warren, Pennsylvania, Suzanne York of Tidioute, Pennsylvania and Kenneth Kantner of North Eaton; 13 grandchildren, Cara, Crystal, Kenny, Jason, Bobby, Tom, Nick, Angie, Cody, Cassie, Matthew, Chris and Sky; eight great-grandchildren;brother, Lenny D’Ercole of Cleveland; and sisters, Betty Andiets and Judy Loomis of Brook Park.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; and son, Richard.

The family will receive friends at the Humenik Funeral Chapel, 14200 Snow Rd. Brook Park, Sunday, November 4, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 5, 2007 at 9 A.M. at St. Peter and the Apostle Church, Engle Road, Brook Park, followed by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to your local diabetes or kidney foundation.
