LORAIN – A California woman wanted by police for kidnapping her own child from Santa Rosa, Calif., was arrested in Lorain late last week along with the child`s father, a Lorain police report said.
The girl, 3, was taken by police and placed into protective custody.
Renee Badger, 31, and William Clark, 40, both of Santa Rosa, Calif., were arrested at a Victory Avenue home after a warrant was issued out of Sonoma County, Calif., for Badger`s arrest, according to Lorain police and Sonoma County Sheriff`s Office.
Lorain police had received information that Badger had kidnapped her 3-year-old daughter from California after losing custody of the girl in a court case, the report said, adding that Clark may have had a part in the kidnapping.
Lorain police found Clark walking into a Victory Avenue home where his family members live, the report said.
Clark was carrying more than 70 grams of marijuana, and he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana, police said. He also was charged with obstructing official business because he told police that he had gotten into a fight with Badger and she left the home, the report said.
Badger, however, was arrested moments later as she was walking out of the house with her daughter in her arms, the report said. Both were being held at Lorain County Jail pending extradition to California, jail officials said.
