Frank graduated from Case Institute of Technology in 1958 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He later received an EMBA from Indiana University.
He retired from General Motors-Allison Engine Corporation working with military vehicles, transmissions, and gas-turbine engines. He was also employed as manager of engineering at Rolls-Royce working with gas-turbine engines.
He belonged to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, National Association of Professional Engineers, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and Phi Gamma Sigma Business Honorary.
He was a past member of the Zionsville Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals.
He enjoyed singing in the choir at Zionsville United Methodist Church, golf, model railroading, and his cocker spaniel “Reesee.”
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Anne Paton Rockwood, to whom he was married nearly 50 wonderful years; daughters, Janet Rockwood, Kim (Dana) Wannemacher, and Karen (Brian) Lindberg; three granddaughters; one grandson; and a half-sister, Mary Alice Hamilton.
Frank was preceded in death by a half-brother, Donald Rockwood; and a half-sister, Dorothy Regan.
A private memorial and celebration of his life was held on Monday, November 5. His family was in attendance.
