Macil I. Hylton (nee Tyler), 84, of Elyria and formerly of Uneeda, W.Va., passed away Tuesday evening, November 6, 2007, at Center Ridge Nursing Home in North Ridgeville, following a lengthy illness.
She was born September 10, 1923, in Julian, W.Va., and resided in Elyria for the past 13 years.
Macil was a homemaker. She was a member of Elyria Baptist Church and attended The Jolly 60s. She formerly attended West Madison Baptist Church in Madison, W.Va.
She enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, James Hylton Jr. (wife Rosemary) of Elyria; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nadine Wilburn of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Walter” Hylton Sr. (1994); a son, Larry Hylton; a brother, Ralph Tyler; and her parents, William and Evie Tyler (nee McCormick).
Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2007, at Elyria Baptist Church, 276 Washington Ave., Elyria, prior to the 4 p.m. funeral service. The Rev. Chuck Leininger, pastor of the church, will officiate.
The family will receive friends 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2007, at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, W.Va. The Rev.
