He was a lifelong resident of Elyria, attending Elyria High School and Ashland College, and was enrolled in Barbers School in Columbus. He was a member of Second Baptist Church Elyria.
He was employed as a cook and food preparer for many restaurants in Elyria, and was a set-up person for different banquet halls in the county, The Elyria Country Club, The Holiday Inn, and Deluca`s Place in the Park.
Mr. Thompson enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and was also an auto detailer, an avid sports fan and enjoyed music.
He is survived by his daughters, Phylica Riggins, and Latoya Riggins, both of Cleveland, Jaquetta Isom of Lorain, Tasha Stone of Elyria;Â sons, Tarell and Phillip Riggins, both of Cleveland, Ray Stone of Elyria; mother, Judy Thompson of Elyria; father, Archie Bugg of Cleveland;Â five grandchildren; sister, Monica Johnson of Berea; brothers, Shawn Kelly of Cleveland, and Victor Johnson of Berea; special friend and caregiver, Janice Arnett of Elyria; two cousins, Bryon and Bruce Reed, both Elyria; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Myra Thompson and Doris Bugg-Shivers; great-grandmother, Hattie Thompson; and aunt, Evelyn Reed.
Friends may call noon Saturday, November 10, 2007, until 1 p.m. services at Second Baptist Church, 427 16th St. (Chapman Lane), Elyria. The Rev. Dr. Carl P. Smalls, pastor, will officiate.
