Man robs adult store at gunpoint

SHEFFIELD TWP. – A man wielding a pistol made off Tuesday afternoon with $307 from an adult store after holding the cashier at gunpoint, according to a sheriff’s report.

A man in large green coat with dreadlocks and a nylon bandana over his face walked into Teddy Wears at 3:44 p.m. and demanded the clerk hand over her cell phone and the money from the register, the report said.

No fingerprints were recovered and a police dog was unable to track the robber, the report said.

Surveillance cameras from an animal clinic next door show a white Ford Mustang in the area immediately before and after the robbery, the report said.

Thieves trap worker in bathroom

LORAIN – A 70-year-old gas station employee was trapped in a bathroom Thursday while two men stole money and cigarettes, police said.

One robber appeared to be crying and asked the employee to clean blood off of the toilet. When she went to do so, the man held the restroom door closed with the employee inside, the report said.

The men stole $47 and cigarettes, then fled south on Middle Ridge Road in a white car, the report said. Lorain and Amherst police, with help from sheriff’s deputies, searched the area but did not find the men.
