Three women were transported to area hospitals after a two-car crash this afternoon in Avon Lake.
Avon Lake police Sgt. Fran Tibbitts said the crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. when the driver of a vehicle traveling west on Electric Boulevard failed to yield at a stop sign to a vehicle traveling north on Lear Road.
Tibbitts said that although no one appeared seriously injured, the driver of the northbound vehicle was transported by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, while her passenger was transported to St. John West Shore Hospital in Westlake.
The driver of the vehicle that caused the crash also was transported to St. John West Shore Hospital, according to police.
Police would not release the names of the accident victims Tuesday.
