William Dodge Wentz, 82, died Friday, November 2, 2007, in Boulder, Colorado.
William was born Oct. 27, 1925 in ElyriaÂ to Ray and Charlotte (Dodge) Wentz. He married Barbara Geyer on May 8, 1954 in Columbus.
William graduated high school in Elyria and served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1945.
He received his B.A. in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University in Columbus, OH in 1949. He worked as a Sales Engineer for the Weatherhead Company for three years in Cleveland, and later was president and owner of Superior Electric Supply Co. for 29 years in Elyria.
He was a board member of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, First Congregational Church, Y.M.C.A, and Northern Savings & Loan, all in Elyria.He was a member of the Elyria Country Club, Oberlin Golf Club, the International Aerobatic Club, Experimental Aircraft Association, Soaring Society of America, Boulder Valley Rotary Club, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Indian Guides, S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. (Barbershop Quarter Singing), Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, Twin Rivers Investment Club, and National Assoc. of Electrical Distributors.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. Wentz, of Boulder, Colorado; one son, Ray (wife Deneen) Wentz of Boulder, Colorado; two grandsons, Christopher Wentz and Zachary Wentz of Boulder, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ervin and Charles.
