She was born September 14, 1925, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She moved to Lorain in 1940 and lived there the rest of her life.
Dora was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Guadalupe Society. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening in her spare time. She was also an avid Indians and Browns fan.
She is survived by her sons, Catarino “Cat” Rodriguez and Theodore “Shorty” Ybarra, both of Lorain; daughters, Elidia “Nona” Gall, Elvira Moralez and Juanita Mendosa, all of Lorain; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Catarino Rodriguez; parents, Juan and Martina Ybarra (nee Garcia); brothers, Salvador, Emilio and Genaro Ybarra; sisters, Otilia Lopez, Mary Rangel and Florencia Munoz.
Friends may call 4 to 9 p.m. today, November 20, 2007, at Reidy-Scanlan-Chambers Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, where a prayer service will be 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2007. Mass will follow 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain. Father James Schmitz will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
