SHAKER HEIGHTS – Two children were killed in an early morning fire Saturday in suburban Cleveland, authorities said.
The children were left with two teenage babysitters who both escaped unharmed. The children were identified as 6-year-old Imoie Ogbuji and 2-year-old Chikora Ogbuji, said Powell Caesar, a spokesman for Cuyahoga County Coroner Frank Miller.
A 1-year-old girl, believed to be a sister of the Ogbujis, and a firefighter were also injured, said Shaker Heights Fire Chief Donald Barnes.
Fire officials say the Shaker Heights fire was reported about 12:30 Saturday morning.
This is at least the third fatal fire involving children in Ohio in the past week.
