ELYRIA – A 12-year-old boy was cited for assault and two counts of menacing at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after a teacher was injured at Educational Alternatives on Lake Avenue, according to an Elyria police report.
The boy, who was taken to the county detention home, also had an outstanding warrant for charges stemming from an earlier assault on a teacher, police said.
Police said the student wouldn`t stay in his classroom and instead kept walking around the school.
School officials put him in a time-out room, where he rushed at a teacher`s legs and nearly knocked her down a flight of steps, the report said.
The boy later said he was going to choke his teacher to death and threatened to strangle an assistant teacher as well, the report said.
