ELYRIA —A 22-year-old Elyria woman was killed Wednesday night shortly after pulling out of the driveway of her Brunswick Drive home.

Toni Fourdyce was pronounced dead shortly after 11:30 p.m. when her eastbound vehicle collided head-on with a westbound vehicle on Brunswick Drive.

Teaun Bush, 20, of Cleveland, was riding as a passenger in Fourdyce’s car, and was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland where her condition is unknown. It is believed a private party transported a second male passenger to EMH Medical Center. His identity is currently unknown.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, Nicholas Spencer, 27, of Wellington, was flown by helicopter from the scene to MetroHealth Medical Center. His condition is also unknown.

Elyria police officials said Spencer was traveling at a speed greater than that of the posted speed limit when the crash occurred. He was the only occupant in his vehicle.

i was there when this happened i saw him fly by my sisters house. and then about a minute later i heard a big boom, i was thinking it was my moms truck because it was parked out in the street. i went outside to look and i was like oh”expletive” i ran down to check on everyone told people to get me blankets now i was on the phone to 911 during the time i saw one person laying on the ground and two others in what looked like a white nova and the one who hit the white car what looked like a ford contour.
while i was on the phone telling them i need fire police and ambulance i was checking everone for a pulse and to see if they was councious. the girl was alive when i checked her for a pulse. the point of impact looked about 200 feet from where the white car was and looked like the one back passanger was ejected out of the car. i never seen something more horrific in my life my heart and prayers goes out to the family of the lost deceased.

I too was there immediately after it occurred. My first thought was that someone had slammed into the rear end of my truck parked outside of my daughter’s home. We all had just finished with Christmas decorations when we heard Mr. Spencer speed by my daughter’s home & then we heard a loud boom. We all went outside to see my son running down towards the accident scene. He was the first there. The sight was unbelievable. It is believed that one young lady had witnessed the incident while it happened & was struck by an object that had flown through the air on impact.
It saddens me tremendously of the sudden loss of life taken on by foolish people who refuse to obey the speed limits in areas populated by families with children. The young lady who passed away because of this tragedy was someone’s daughter or perhaps someone’s Mommy. She obviously may have been a young man’s special person because of his cries of anquish at discovering that she had been involved. It was heartbreaking.
Our prayers are for those families who’s hearts are breaking.

What a shame that another inconsiderate fool took the life of a beautiful young lady. It really angers me that folks even feel pity for the person who caused this tragedy. Toni did not deserve to die like this. My heart goes out to her family. My sincerest condolences for her and her loved ones. Apparently the driver who caused this, Nick, also died as a result of his injuries. I’d have rather he lived to be convicted and spend the rest of his days in a jail cell contemplating the fact that his actions caused such grief for so many people.

To the family and friends of Toni Fourdyce and the Spencer family, you have my sincere deepest sympathy on your loss.
My heart is heavy, and is truly very sadden that the lives of these two wonderful young people has ended.
Both have families who loved them a great deal, and now must face this terrible time of grief, that no words of comfort will bring. No parent should have to bury their children.

No matter how horrific this is and it really is… it is still an accident! There is no way that Nick set out to do this. You call him an inconsiderate fool among other things…..
Well tell me that you NEVER SPEED! That you were NEVER in a HURRY to get some where or running late. This could have been ANY ONE of you that this happen to on that day and time you were speeding. Remember that the next time you are speeding even a little bit, and how you reacted to this. Accidents do happen, it doesn’t make it right, or less painful, but they do happen

  8. Someone close says:

He killed her. He took away a daughter, sister, and a mother to a 7 month old baby girl. He took away an incredible person who loved life and loved all people, regardless of who or what they might have been. And to make it even worse the Nicholas family shows how insensitive they are by burrying him 9 plots from Toni’s grave. If this was a seriel killer do you think they would bury him so close to his victims? I do not think so. And yes when it comes down to it he made victims of many people. Toni, her family and his family as well. Shame on him.

  9. Mike says:

Perhaps Toni’s family could have looked 9 plots down and say the Spencer family plot already in place.

How insensitive are you anyway? Two people were ACCIDENTLY killed and a very sad manner. No one is at fault here. It was an ACCIDENT. Did you read the article here? ACCIDENT.

Accidents do happen, but this was caused by his decision to drive at an EXCESSIVE speed in a area where it is posted 25 MPH. This is no different than a drunk driver killing an innocent victim. Drunk drivers dont mean to hurt anyone, but because they choose to drive it leads to countless lives being lost because of their decisions. Im sure this driver didn’t mean to hurt anyone either, but because he chose to drive at excessive speeds it lead to innocent victims being hurt and lives lost. Everyone has gone over the speed limit at some time or another, but when you drive as fast as he did down that road, you’re asking for an accident. My condolences for both families.
