The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Earl C. Thompson of Eaton Township, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 14, 2007 in the emergency room of EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria.
He was born on November 21, 1922 in Ghent, West Virginia. Mr. Thompson had been an Eaton Township resident for 47 years. He was employed for over 20 years at Gear Company of America in Cleveland and retired in 1987. He was a man of great faith and he loved reading God’s word, the Bible. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Stella (nee Meadows); two sons, Doug Thompson (Linda) of North Ridgeville and Greg Thompson (Dimitra) of Huntsburg; six grandchildren, Douglas, David, Daniel, Maria, Sarah and Jonathon Thompson; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Thompson; and one brother, Marcus Thompson of Wendell, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Hope (nee Harvey) Thompson; one sister, Phyllis Wood; and three brothers, Quentin, Robert and James (Buster) Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Crow, pastor of Harvest Ridge Assembly of God Church in North Ridgeville, officiating.
Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township.
