Women robbed at gunpoint in Lorain store’s parking lot

LORAIN —Two women were robbed at gunpoint Saturday as they walked to their car at Big Lots in Lorain.

Maureen Costello and Barbara Tully, both 50, told police they left the store at 1:40 a.m. when two men wearing bandannas over their face and brandishing guns demanded their money.

The first suspect, described as a six-foot-tall man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, grabbed Tully’s wallet, they told police.

The second suspect, described as a slightly taller man with a red and white bandanna over his face, then grabbed Costello’s purse before both ran away, according to police.

Both women were visibly shaken by the event, but neither was injured, according to the report.
