The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Patricia “Pat” Ann Floyd

Patricia "Pat" Ann (nee Cole) Floyd, 59, of Mansfield, died Monday, December 24, 2007 at her home following a short illness. She was born March 25, 1948 in Lodi, a daughter of the late Marshall and Flora (Biddinger) Cole.

She grew up in Wellington and was a 1966 graduate of Wellington High School. She had lived in Ashland and Mansfield.Mrs. Floyd worked in home health care and as a waitress at Bob Evans Restaurant in Mansfield. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Wellington for many years.

She had also been a member of the Sullivan Christian Church and most recently had been attending the Ashland Full Gospel Church. Mrs. Floyd was a former member of the Wellington V.F.W. Auxiliary, a former commander of the Navy Mothers Club in Ashland, and a member of the Eagles Club in Ashland. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, loved helping her neighbors, gardening, flower beds and traveling the West with her husband.

She is survived by her husband, James Keith Floyd, whom she married November 22, 1972. They had just celebrated their 35th anniversary on Thanksgiving; two sons, Jeff Floyd of Portsmouth, Virginia and Jason Floyd of Columbus; a daughter, Jodie Shankle of Akron; 15 grandchildren; five sisters, Marsha Chapman and Shirley Searles both of Wellington, Sondra Faight of Elyria, Gloria Dybo of Grafton, Rebecca Brasee of LaGrange; brother, Gilbert Cole of Wellington; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from  5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at the Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St., Wellington, where Funeral Services will be held at 3 P.M. Thursday, December 27, 2007. Pastor Vernon Gilmore will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
